I am almost recovered from a back injury that caused my left leg to get very weak from sitting for two months and favoring my right leg. It has been impossible to take a step up with my right leg. It was all I could do to hop up if I tried. And I had fallen several times when my left leg collapsed.
Stand with the back of your legs to a chair. Place a table in front of you with a mirror on it. Bend over so that your hands are on your knees and you can see your face in the mirror. (This is the secret to balance. Standing on one foot is possible by keeping the head stationary)
Start bending your legs as you "zoom in” on your reflection. Concentrate on equal pressure on both feet. Bend your legs until your thighs are horizontal (still watching your reflection), rise to starting position.
