This exercise is quite simple and it is very effective. You can do this in any position or place as you'd like as long as your back is straight.


  • You can begin by opening your mouth slightly and exhaling slowing.
  • Now, close your mouth and begin inhaling softly to a mental count of 4. Before you exhale, hold your breath, if you can, for a count of 7.
  • Open your mouth again, slightly, and exhale to a count of 8.
  • Keep doing this 3 more times. If you feel like you need to, you can do it more cycles than just three.


If you find out that you are having trouble with holding your breath, you can speed up the counting.
