The Moon Phases

Hello,
All we have learned up to this point helps you prepare for spell casting and writing as we have discussed the materials and elements that are used when casting spells or rituals. Now, in this lesson, you will be learning about the phases of the moon which is also very important when casting spells as some instructions may require you to perform it on a certain night, place, and during a certain moon phases occurrence.

The Moon

The moon symbolizes the Mother Goddess which represents the female cycle of growth. Each phase of the moon has the power or energy of its own. Therefore, different spells can be cast for each one depending on the meaning of each phase. Knowing the meaning and the symbolizations of each phase can help you and your spells become stronger. 

The New Moon

As we entire this stage, it represents new beginnings, fresh starts, and hope. It can also represent optimism and faith. During these phases, is the Mother Goddess's infant stage which is why this phase symbolizes new beginnings as a new stage of your life is about to begin while starting fresh after bad experiences you may have faced in the past. During this phase, the two best-known spells, work, and money are both recommended to be cast during this moon phase as you are gazing towards the future instead of the past.

First Quarter

Your purposes should be strongly and securely grounded into you now as we reach the first quarter moon phase. During this phase, it is important to not hesitate and to act rapidly in order to make things happen to enjoy your life and reach for your goals.

Second Quarter

During this phase, continue on setting goals and accomplishing them, but don't overload it. During this stage, it is a good idea to practice divination and perhaps meditate.

The Waxing Moon

As we have approached the Waxing Moon, it symbolizes great accomplishments, growth, strengths, and positive changes. This stage is when Mother Goddess is in her maiden age which is a great time for growing and accomplishing your goals. During this stage, it is also a great time for journies and a great stage to strengthen your powers and our understandings of new worlds or universes. As we begin getting closer to the full moon, the moon's power becomes stronger as does our intuitional powers which help with our self-awareness.

The Full Moon

As we have finally reached the Full Moon stage our powers are at their peak. This stage represents abundance, sexuality, dream protection, and harvest. This stage is when Mother Goddess is at her mothering stage. During this time, it is great for recharging your materials such as jewelry and other tools. It is also a great time for getting a job, getting married, good health, and healing. During these phases, the best four spells that can be used are spirituality, divination, psychic development, and dreams. You can also use love spells to help you gain more love in your life. 

The Waning Moon

During this phase, as we have reaches the Waning Moon phase, decreasing from the Full Moon, this stage represents letting go, cleansing and releasing. During this stage, this is when you can cast spells in order to banish problems, you can also cast protection spells during this time as well as cleansing yourself, healing spells are also great to use during this time. It has also been known that exercises and diet results last longer when preformed during this moon phase.

The Blue Moon

A Blue Moon is when there is an occurrence of two full moons in one single month. During this time, it has been said that it can be very intense and this is when all our emotions are enhanced. However, during a Blue Moon, be extra careful of what you attempt to do, during this stage, results may vary. 

Lunar Eclipse

This is a very important phase or occurrence. They represent a big or dramatic change that cannot be stop or control. You can use this energy in order to make or create big life decisions. 

Black Moon

This phase has no exact meaning but is very popular in Wicca. This phase usually occurs the night before the new moon occurs and can be used to let go of and face your fears. 

These are the main phases, in order, that have certain meanings to them and specific spells that are best to be cast at those times. For future references, the exact order of all moon phases goes like this:
New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, Waning Crescent.

That is so much information about the phases of the moon. I knew waxing and waning but not the other terms. The song links are cool too. And the time-lapse pictures of the moon phases show how the moon changes. Thank you for all the time and effort that it took to do all that work.
