Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today is the day that we celebrate the strength and patriotism of the Irish. St. Patrick's day is also called the Feast of Saint Patrick and it is also the death date of Saint Patrick himself, the saint of Ireland.
Patrick was taken as a slave when he was 16 years old but he escaped later on and turned the Irish Christian. He had many legends carry on with him when he died. For example, he used a shamrock as a symbol in order to explain and symbolize the Trinity, three persons in one god (father, holy spirit, and son).
At one point, to mark this special holiday, Chicago decided to color their river green even though, before green was marked as the holiday's color, blue was the color associated with Saint Patrick's day. And also, now, people often wear the color green.
