January 2nd, The Day After New Year's Day ~ Gregorian calendar

The Day After New Year's Day takes place on January 2nd, of course, and any who may celebrate this event uses the Gregorian calendar, except for Israel. Some countries may even make this day a part 2 of their New Year's Day celebration, making it an additional holiday. Any country that still uses the Julian calendar will celebrate New Year's Day on January 14th. People who may celebrate this day will have fireworks on display across the night sky.

Some History

Originally, New Year's was celebrated on March 15th according to the Roman Calendar but was later changed, of course. IN 1582, the Roman Catholic Church declared January 1st as the New Year officially and some countries had adopted that day before they even transitioned to the Gregorian calendar.
