January 6th ~ Epiphany (Three Kings’ Day) - Christians

On January 6th, in several countries, a special event for, mainly Christians, is being celebrated. On this day, it is said that Jesus has made himself known to the world. Some countries in South America have named Epiphany Three Kings Day, which also can be just called Kings Day. This name came from the wise men, or the three kings, who have been sent by Herod to find the baby Jesus, as mentioned earlier.
Even though some countries or regions celebrate on January 6th, others may have their own celebrations on different days in different ways. However, the reason for the celebration will be the same.

History

On the day of January 6th, it is said that Jesus was born and several people traveled many, many days to come to see the newborn Jesus. Of course, it took quite a while because most of them were either walking or riding donkeys. Some even took camels as their ride. Some of the wise men were sent to find the baby and they offered him gifts such as gold or frankincense, and even myrrh. Everyone adored baby Jesus and they showed their gratitude and great joy at the presence of the newborn.
