Majority Rule Day ~ January 10th

Intro & History

Each year in the Bahamas, on January 10th, they are celebrating their Independence. They called it Majority Rule Day. On June 10, 1973, Great Britain gained and achieved their independence as a Commonwealth.

In order to celebrate, the people in the Bahamas will dance, host events and parades, and even eat certain Bahama foods to feast on! Some foods include fish, pork, rice, peas, fruit, and lobster! Also, most businesses and schools will also become closed on this day in honor and celebrationg.
