I am thinking about getting rid of the downvote. I don't see the purpose of it and I feel like it is too negative. So, I may end up deactivating the downvote.

You could just put the downvote button in your desk in case you need to plug it back in in the future. I don’t downvote anyone unless I think they are trying for downvotes.
